Raid alerts for ARK: Survival Ascended — how to get pinged (and woken up) the moment a raid starts

A log channel nobody reads at 3 AM isn't an alert. Here's the alert design that actually works for small tribes: routing, thresholds, pings, and a voice-channel siren.

A tribe log feed in Discord is useful. It is not an alert. At 3 AM nobody is reading #tribe-log; a raid alert has to be loud, rare enough that people don't mute it, and it has to fire within seconds of the first turret going down.

What counts as a raid signal

  • Structure destroyed — the earliest, most reliable signal. One line might be a wild dino; three in a minute is a raid.
  • Tribemember killed — if someone is online and dying, it's happening now.
  • Tame killed — turret-line tames going down means they are inside the perimeter.
  • Tek sensor / alarm tripped — triggers before any damage if you placed sensors on approaches.
  • Parasaur alert — a parasaur in turret mode spots enemy players or tames at range. See the parasaur alert guide.

Route the serious stuff to its own channel

Keep #tribe-log for everything (tames, demolish, cryo — the noise) and send only the signals above to #raid-alerts. In ASA Tribe Log Bot that's the → alert channel checkbox per event type plus a second webhook. Your raid channel stays quiet for days, so when it makes a sound, people look.

Thresholds beat single events

Pinging @everyone on every destroyed structure trains the tribe to ignore pings. Use a rule instead: when at least 3 Kill/Death/Sensor events happen within 5 minutes, @mention the Raid Defense role. One stray line from a wild Giga never pings; a real raid pings within the first minute. Tune the numbers to your base — a big base with a long turret line can use 5 in 5.

The siren: a voice-channel alarm

Phone notifications get silenced. A Discord voice channel that starts blaring doesn't. Tribemates who are asleep join a voice channel on their phone or second device; the bot joins that channel and plays a siren when the threshold hits. Loop it until someone runs /logbot soundoff. It needs a free Discord bot token (five minutes to set up) — the setup guide covers it.

Who to mention

Create a Raid Defense role for people who actually want to be woken up and mention that, not the whole server. Get the ID with Developer Mode (Settings → Advanced) → right-click the role → Copy ID, and enter it as <@&ID>.

Always attach the picture

OCR is good, not perfect. Attaching a crop of the actual log to every alert means a half-asleep tribemate can verify "Tek Turret" really says Tek Turret before they fully wake up. It also shows the coordinates lines the game prints for structures, which tells you where they are hitting.

Checklist: alert channel ✓ · threshold rule ✓ · Raid Defense role ✓ · siren in a voice channel ✓ · picture attached ✓. With this in place, a raid is a ping within a minute, not a surprise in the morning.

Questions

How fast is the alert?

The app checks the log every 2 seconds; the Discord post and siren follow within a few seconds of the line appearing in-game.

Can I get alerts on my phone?

Yes — Discord mobile notifications for the alert channel, or join the siren voice channel from your phone before sleeping.

What about offline raids on PvE?

PvE tribes use the same setup for tame deaths and decay/demolish events rather than raids.
