Official PvP · Small Tribes · PvE · no mods · no API · no admin

The tribe log bot that works on official ASA servers.

Official servers give players no tribe-log API, no plugins and no RCON — which is why most "log to Discord" tools quietly say unofficial only. ASA Tribe Log Bot reads the Tribe Log inside your running game client and posts every line to Discord: structures destroyed, tames killed, parasaur alerts, who's online. Raid pings and a voice siren wake the tribe.

Why official is different

There is no tribe log API on official servers. This works anyway.

On unofficial servers an admin can install a plugin that pushes tribe events to a webhook. Official servers run stock code: no plugins, no RCON for players, no exported log of any kind. The tribe log exists in exactly one place — rendered as text inside your game client, in the Tribe Manager's LOG tab.

So that's where ASA Tribe Log Bot reads it. A client stays logged in with the log open; the app captures that window, reads the text with OCR, and posts each new line to Discord. It compares whole frames rather than remembering lines, so ten identical "Tek Turret destroyed" events are counted (×10) instead of being dropped as duplicates, and a digit misread one frame isn't re-posted as a new event.

Nothing touches the server, nothing is injected into the game, and nothing needs anyone's permission but yours.

Where it runs

Built for the servers everything else skips

Official PvP

The servers everyone else's tools give up on. No plugins, no RCON for players, no tribe-log API — the bot reads the log inside your game client instead, so official is where it matters most.

Small Tribes

Max-6 tribes, 3.5× rates, brutal offline raids. A 24/7 watcher with a siren and @mentions is the difference between waking up to a raid and waking up to rubble.

Official PvE

Decay timers, tames dying, tribe membership changes and who's online — same reader, calmer alerts. Route what you care about to the channels you want.

Unofficial too

Any server where a client can open the Tribe Log — cluster, boosted, private. No admin cooperation needed; nothing to install server-side.

Setup

Four steps on an official server

  1. 1

Keep a client in the tribe with the Tribe Log open

Any PC that can run ASA at low settings — an old PC, a laptop, an alt account parked in base. On console, use a capture card, Remote Play or a Discord stream.

  2. 2

    Paste a Discord webhook

Channel → Edit → Integrations → Webhooks → New. That's the entire Discord setup — no bot required for posting.

  3. 3

Drag a box around the log text

The screen dims, you draw a rectangle, and a preview shows every line the bot reads.

  4. 4

    Press Start

New lines post within seconds as colour-coded embeds with a picture of the log. Raid events can @mention a role and play a voice-channel siren.

Every step shows a green or red light in the app and tells you what to fix. Setup guide · Console setup

FAQ

Official-server questions

Does it really work on official ARK: Survival Ascended servers?

Yes — official PvP, Small Tribes and PvE. Official servers run stock code with no plugins, no player RCON and no tribe-log API, so the bot reads the Tribe Log panel inside a running game client and posts what it sees to a Discord webhook. Nothing is needed from the server.

Why don't other tribe log bots work on official servers?

Most rely on server-side plugins or RCON, which only exist on unofficial servers where an admin can install them. Official servers give players none of that. The only approach that works on official is reading the log from the game client — which is exactly what this bot does.

Does it work on Small Tribes?

Yes. Small Tribes is an official mode, so the same client-side reading applies. It's also where the alerts matter most: offline raids on 3.5× rates are fast, and a siren in a voice channel wakes people before the base is gone.

Do I need server admin, RCON or a mod?

No. No admin rights, no RCON, no mods, no server access of any kind. A Discord webhook is the only thing you set up outside the app.

Is it allowed? Will I get banned?

The bot only captures the screen — it never injects into the game and never sends input by default. The optional auto-reconnect and chat-send features press keys like a macro would; they're off until you turn them on and are your call under the game's rules.

Does someone have to stay logged in?

Yes — the tribe log only renders inside a client that's in your tribe. Tribes keep an alt account or a second PC online for it; low settings and 15 fps are plenty, and you can keep using that PC for other things.

PC only, or console too?

Both. PC reads the game window directly. Xbox and PlayStation tribes use a capture card, Remote Play, or a tribemate's Discord stream — see the console page.

How fast do lines show up in Discord?

Typically within a few seconds of appearing in the log. Raid spam is collapsed into one message with a counter, and misreads aren't re-posted thanks to frame-based de-duplication.

Official servers don't send you a log. This does.
